Dynamic models for a BOF (Basic oxygen furnace) process have been developed to quantitatively capture the variation in refining kinetics and heat flow during blowing period. Previous studies extensive understand reaction mechanisms process. The understanding of period helps optimizing interms energy consumption minimizing overall excess (heat losses). present work aims develop an approach that will once profiles are known. In calculation instantaneous heats were calculated based on from Cicutti et al.1) industrial trial Imphos pilot plant data.2) model reveals different possibilities optimization by identifying periods formation. It was observed compiling Cicutti’s data average 7.5 MJ/min/t hot metal is generated spanning 6 14 minutes. Moreover, study demonstrates parameters such as scrap quantity, flux added, flowrate can play vital role terms utilization
